O Great God by Sovereign Grace Music

Not all hymns are old. This is one of my favorites, and it is only a few years old. It is based on a Puritan's prayer which is older, but it was changed a bit and set to music by Bob Kauflin for a Sovereign Grace Music album Valley of Vision which was copyrighted in 2006 (Sovereign Grace Praise).

Cat and Mouse Video

This video is one I made of our cat playing with toy mice. It wasn't all filmed at the same time, but most of it was within 2 or 3 days...all except a couple of clips from a couple of years ago closer to when we got her. I hope you enjoy watching it!

Isolating the Gospel

This video is a really tough and challenging one. For me it is difficult, because I am both shy and disabled which tends to keep me from socializing as much to begin with.
At this point, I am hoping God uses me online at least while I am able to communicate this way. I've had in the past some times where I kept quiet not knowing if the situation was right, and I regretted not saying anything to some people. Tracts are good things for people like me to share when there is little time to talk. How about you? Please watch this video, and you will probably feel convicted too!

Eternal Praise - Enfield

The guy singing the song on this video (Paul Hoover) was a worship leader at a church I went to in California some years back. He left that church probably for the one he currently is at. He picked some good songs from Sovereign Grace Music, etc. He needed maturing and wise counsel, but then he seemed fairly young back then. This song grew on me as I listened to it a number of times. I decided to share it on here for those who look at my blog. I thought some people might enjoy it and seeing someone who I used to see on Sundays up front for awhile in my past. It's an Enfield song as you can see from the title. We have a great temporary worship leader where I go to church now in Tennessee, although I wish he would use some Sovereign Grace Music songs as apparently they did use some in the past (although I didn't notice any whenever I've been there).

Harold Camping: Third Time's the Charm?

He’s done it again! October 21st?
I looked up some verses, and this is where my thoughts are about all of this.
Matthew 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”
1 Thessalonians 4:17
"Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord."
Whether you believe in the term “Rapture” or not, and whether you are hopeful for pre-tribulation (Matthew 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.”) or are believing in a post tribulation “Rapture” or Coming (which from my simple reading looks quite likely) or if you have some other understanding, Camping shouldn’t have predicted when the Lord would / shall return.
I feel it’s okay to have debate but not division over interpretation of certain passages of Scripture by honest theologians (and it makes me mad when people try to divide true Christians), but I’ve read about what God thinks of false prophets and their judgment.
Also, Jesus said this as part of the signs of His coming, the ending of the age:
Matthew 24:11-14
“Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Ezekiel 13:6,7 about Israel’s false prophets of peace:
“They see falsehood and lying divination who are saying, ‘The LORD declares,’ when the LORD has not sent them; yet they hope for the fulfillment of their word. “Did you not see a false vision and speak a lying divination when you said, ‘The LORD declares,’ but it is not I who have spoken?”’
I somehow feel sorry for Harold Camping even though I shouldn’t. He has deceived many, and many gave a lot of money for a lie. My Dad actually met Mr. Camping many many years ago.
Harold Camping was kicked out of a church, and he got to the point where he thought people should just listen to Family Radio instead of obeying the Bible about not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.
1 John 4:1 was shared by a guy on my Facebook friends list:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

On The Box: Was Jesus Sinless?

I thought this was a good blog post that Chad from On The Box did. I don't have the verses all down, but it's a good reference point that I can go to. Please check it out!
On The Box: Was Jesus Sinless?: "Often times in street evangelism it is forgotten to make much of the Person Jesus Christ. We take the time to work through the commandments ..."

Before the Throne of God Above

This song is one that I really like, and it's neat to hear a bunch of pastors singing it. I am sharing it here now for blog readers. It's nice to know that those of us who are Christians are positionally perfect, even though we still have to battle sin on earth for a time! You can sing along with this song if you want, as it has lyrics with it.

Beth Moore Examined

Beth Moore…
Many Christians have heard this name, and many women are encouraged to participate in
Bible Studies and simulcasts by her at their churches. My Dad has done some research on her, and I also have searched online scouring to find more information about her. Some troubling information has arisen, and we are quite concerned about it. I want to share some of the links that I have found over time.
I do not know if these are people who I would agree with on every issue…in fact I would likely not, but I definitely see red flags when it comes to Beth Moore.
This first audio clip is quite lengthy and may take some time. Perhaps you will find some of it reaches a bit, but there is still substantial concern here.
http://www.extremetheology.com/2010/03/beth-moores-dangerous-bible-twisting.html
Below is one of the earlier things I found which mentions about “contemplative spirituality and other dangerous and mystical practices.” It is by a lady named Yvonne.
http://firstjohnfourfive.wordpress.com/2009/02/05/believe-god-not-beth-moore/
This next site has a few articles off of it that I think may alert some of my Christian readers.
http://pfo.org/Beth_Moore.htm
Next is a blog post by a Lutheran woman named Edie that the following site borrowed from with the original person's permission:
http://www.purposedrivel.com/2010/01/why-i-dont-do-beth-moore-anymore.html
I’m not saying that Beth Moore isn’t a Christian woman, but watch out when people start going away from God’s Word into emotionalism, focus on self, and into mysticism.
While this verse was written to Timothy (women should only teach other women or children in the church), I think the following verse is a good warning to even a woman who wants to teach other women or children as well.
“Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you. “
1 Timothy 4:16

PETRA - Mine Field

This video is pretty hard hitting (not for kids), but it really demonstrates the dangers out there in comparing physical war and spiritual battles/war.

Petra was an acquired taste in music I had when I was young, because most of the music I listened to was soft to medium rock (mostly Christian contemporary from childhood through high school).
Even if you don't like hard rock and weren't listening to music in the late 1980s, I hope you can appreciate the message of the video.

What Guys Think About Modesty

I am posting this once again on my blog for those who missed it before or want to see this one again. It's something that Christian women realy need to think about. I was blessed to learn from my family and at a church about modesty, but it is neglected today for fear of offending women or geting scorned (and that can happen). This video is from a guy's perspective.
What Guys Think About Modesty from sharethemessage on GodTube.

Luke 17:1, 2
He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.

If you have an interest and haven't seen it, I posted previously some tips in a video I did with my sister specifically for women and girls. It's very amateur, but I hope God is using and will continue to use it.
I also put it on http://www.godtube.com/ktinchrist/

Matthew 18:7
“Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!"

On Fire: All In Your Head

Peter Furler's new album On Fire is scheduled to come out June 21, 2011!
The samples have grown on me, and I think it's going to sound really good overall! His single Reach is already out and available for purchase. I got to hear it even before it was out for purchase, and it has a hit sound. Reach is already #1 in Australia!

You can sample previews of all of the songs at the website below...go to View Tracks in the bottom right area under the album title to find the songs listed:

The All In Your Head song is pretty catchy to me, as it stuck in my head for awhile!

The Severity of Hell

This is a good article about Hell. Some of you may have heard about Rob Bell's wrong views on the subject in recent months. I like it when people use the Scripture to base their beliefs on instead of wishful thinking.

Another Christian Modesty Video for Women

My sister & I decided to take a stab at creating a personal video about modesty based on the teaching we have heard over the years. It's very amateur, so please be kind about that in any comment you might submit. I hope a lot of Christian ladies will watch this one anyway.

K-LOVE - Josh Wilson "Before The Morning" LIVE

This is an encouraging song reminding those of us who believe that Heaven is coming. I thought about those who survived the tornadoes, and now I also think about people going through persecution for the sake of Christ and the Gospel, and even people going through physical pain such as mine (fibromyalgia). I realize the verse Josh Wilson is taking from in mentioning the "weight of glory" is about suffering for the sake of Christ and the Gospel, but I know that other suffering conforms Christians like me more into being like Christ in a different way.
"Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
I hope this song will encourage other people too. I think we sang it at least once at the church I attend, if I'm remembering right that is!

Name Above All Names (from the Risen album) Video with Lyrics

I know I've shared this song before more than once in audio form, but this time you can see the lyrics are there to sing along with on this video version. I'm sorry about those who can't view it, as it is a Youtube video.

Should We Rejoice In Usama Bin Laden's Death?

"When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish,
And the hope of strong men perishes." Proverbs 11:7

"When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices,
And when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting." Proverbs 11:10

He who is steadfast in righteousness will attain to life,
And he who pursues evil will bring about his own death. Proverbs 11:19

"If the righteous will be rewarded in the earth,
How much more the wicked and the sinner!" Proverbs 11:31

"Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
Or the LORD will see it and be displeased,
And turn His anger away from him." Proverbs 24:17,18

"For there will be no future for the evil man;
The lamp of the wicked will be put out." Proverbs 24:20

The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
And men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
Surely there is a God who judges on earth!”
Psalm 58:10,11

So, should we rejoice that Usama bin Laden is dead? I personally think so.
It isn't just because he is an enemy of ours, but because he falls into the category of the wicked. God will give him the level of punishment he deserves in Hell unless he repented at the last moment. Although everyone deserves hell, I believe that there are degrees of punishment in hell.
I feel that both earthly justice was done, and that someone who was an instrument of Satan was stopped. In a way, isn't it God's doing ultimately? God brings about justice sometimes through human instruments even unwittingly in some cases. God will judge motives of individuals hearts who carried it out, but for now I think I can give thanks that God has worked to let our troops remove one of the threats to many lives. It is God who brings deliverance!

"Let destruction come upon him unawares,
And let the net which he hid catch himself;
Into that very destruction let him fall.
And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD;
It shall exult in His salvation." Psalm 35:8,9

Tornado victims fill area hospitals

I thought I'd share one more video related to one of the tornadoes in the area (from April 29th possibly). I'm not recommending watching other video choices that show up, as I haven't screened them.
