DIVINE PROVIDENCE

Providence: The Will and the Way
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 NASB
Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Part of Job 2:10 NASB
God is sovereign. He may bring adversity to sanctify believers & wean affections from the world.
Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 NASB
The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NASB
We should not twist the doctrine of God's providence/Sovereign control to justify sin.
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “ If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” James 4:14-15 NASB
We should give our plans to God & trust Him for the outcome. God may thwart your plans...even good ones. Your plans are subject to the providence of God.
The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 NASB
Do we trust the providence of God no matter what...even when His plans are different than ours?
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7 NASB
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NASB
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence. Psalm 42:5 NASB
