Cessationist Movie, Psalm 142 ("My Lonely Cry") Message, Hymn of the Day

Cessationist - There is a new documentary being worked on that will examine the gifts of the Spirit and how the Spirit actually works today.  Much of what people attribute to the Spirit isn't of Him.  The makers of the film (who also did Calvinist and some other documentaries) have been fundraising for it on Kickstarter, and it did reach its goal.  Some of the people I follow online have given toward this, so I look forward to what comes from it.  Phil Johnson is on the video clip they shared, so I suspect it will be good.  Learn more HERE.

My Lonely Cry (Sermon by Don Green) - Tuesday night, Don Green gave a very encouraging message for Christians going through trouble.  He is going through the Psalms, and this one is from Psalm 142.  David was in a cave calling for help from God.  This is one that I believe people will want to share!  You can listen HERE.

My First Thoughts on the Documentary "By What Standard?"

A new documentary was just released by Founders Ministries, and it is called "By What Standard?"

It explains why critical race theory and intersectionality should not be used as "analytical tools" in the church (specifically talking about the Southern Baptist Conference).

The terms "critical race theory" & "intersecionality" are complicated, so I will encourage you to watch the documentary for a further explanation on what it's about.

The documentary sounds a warning bell of the dangers ahead for those opening the door to using the social theories mentioned above.  

From what I've seen online people are already biting the baited hook and are placing identity & victimhood over Scripture.

They are letting cultural acceptance & ideals corrupt their view of what the Bible clearly says.

I appreciated the film, and I only noticed a couple of things that I would give a disclaimer on.

One is name of the program / podcast that Summer Jaegar has to do with.  

I don't even want to share the name.

I know some are annoyed that I take offense at it, but others will understand. 

 

Secondly, I do not believe that social work is a "gospel issue."  

The man (sorry, I don't know who he was) may have been meaning that Christians will be transformed as a result of the Gospel (being saved), and will have fruit.  

(Plus, I know people can do mercy ministry where the true Gospel is proclaimed).

Also, the miracles the apostles did were signs of their apostolic authority.

That being said, this was an important documentary, and I hope many people will take heed.

Please don't be put off by the terminology, if you haven't heard it before.

This week is The Shepherds' Conference Summit at Grace Community Church in California!
They plan to live-stream it once again.
Tuesday kicks off the conference - with John MacArthur at 10 AM Pacific (which is 1 PM Eastern in the U.S.).

This is directed by the person who put out the excellent documentary on Charles Spurgeon.
They have announced that it can now be pre-ordered.

I watched the last portion live and the first portion dead?  No, not really.
I watched most of the first half with the music and introduction in video form.
I highly recommend watching this....especially for those of you who haven't heard him before!

I didn't want to leave this newer book out of my post about Reformation and Revival, and those of you who like screen reading can now be happy!
I've read 4 chapters so far in my paperback version, and it's worth your time!
It deals not only with historical facts and a great desire to see revival in New England (which has again grown cold), but it goes through what a Biblical church should look like.

Wait Till It's Free (Healthcare) Documentary & Church Hymn

Some of you may remember when I shared about the documentary IndoctriNation which was about the negative brainwashing that goes on in public schools.
There is a shortened version that you can watch Here & you can now watch the entire documentary See about that HERE. 

Well, Colin Gunn has another documentary about healthcare called "Wait Till It's Free."  It was apparently released in 2014, but I only learned of it recently.

I was able to watch 20 minutes' worth free, but I have yet to see the whole thing.

Being disabled, I'll admit to appreciating having coverage.
Still, I have seen plenty of the bad effects of the health system over the years, and it is only getting worse the way it's headed.
I have had times in my life of not having insurance and other times when I have been covered by insurance and government healthcare eventually.
It would be interesting to see the rest of what Colin has to say.

Gendercide in America and 180 Movie

Many people have watched the videos catching "Planned Parenthood" in the act of going along with abortions of girl babies. Sadly, it isn't surprising. If people can take a human life of a baby in the womb for disability or any other reason, then why not gender? America has already gone down the slippery slope of moral relativism and away from the ultimate standard of what God says about life and murder in His Word.   After watching this video, I highly recommend watching the "180" Movie documentary below it to see the process of what devaluing human life was like in the past and how history repeats itself in many ways.  Also, there is a potentially life saving message if you watch the whole thing!  If you have trouble getting one of the videos in, just try refreshing the page.

Live Monumental Documentary with Kirk Cameron March 27, 2012

Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure will be a live even on March 27, 2012 to be viewed in theaters across the U.S.

The closest place to view this is too far for my family to want to drive sadly. 
If you can go to one of the viewings, it should be worth checking out.  They will have speakers and singers I believe as well as the documentary itself.

There will be some extra showings also that are not live beginning March 30th after the live event for those who are unable to participate in that. 

Kirk Cameron was in a show called Growing Pains when he was young (starting from before he became a Christian).  We didn't have a TV back then, but I know people were thrilled when he stopped by at the church where my school was at when I was in junior high.  You may have seen him in the Left Behind movies or on the Way of the Master program ... especially if you are a Christian.
Please don't prejudge this.  Things will and are getting worse, but I agree that we don't have to throw in the towel when things go downhill.  History can be very informative, and I think it is worthwhile to find out what is said.

The following video will give you a clue as to what this intriguing documentary is all about. 

Monumental (Trailer)

Kirk Cameron has been working on a documentary type movie for a long time now, and it's finally scheduled to be released this Spring.

I don't know what the final conclusion is with it yet. I don't know if it is just about trying to change the nation, or if it's about people's need of a change internally that can only be brought about by the Lord.
It will be interesting to find out.  Some of you have already seen this, but I thought I'd share the official trailer on my blog anyway.  I thought I had shared about Monumental in the past, but I can't seem to find it!   Perhaps that was just on a social media site.  I had been following about it for a long time anyway.
