I grew up listening to a lot of music.
A lot of it had the Christian label, and some of the best lyrics came from Steve Camp.
I saw him in concert maybe three or four times, and went up to meet him once at Grace Community Church when he was there.
While at this point I don't believe he is Biblically qualified as a pastor (though I don't blame him for what was not his fault...and realize others don't share my understanding),
I really love a lot of his lyrics from the past.
He is surely a brother in Christ from all I've heard and read, and this is nostalgic for me.

I have enjoyed the following video in recent times especially when the topic of forgiveness has come up. My only disclaimer is that I believe the man singing this is not qualified as a pastor from my understanding of the Bible, but he is certainly a Christian brother. I have enjoyed his music for many years, went to a number of his concerts, and met him in person once at a church. His lyrics are generally excellent. There are times when communications with Christians break down, and online it's especially difficult to work things out unless people are willing to communicate and show Christian love. Confrontation needs to take place, but some people hold things against people without communicating with the person they have something against. Then they gossip and slander the person without ascertaining the facts. Don't get me wrong....there are many false teachers that need to be warned against, but there are those that look for evil or jump on personality flaws.
Would we withstand the test that we put on others?
What with celebrating family anniversaries, upcoming surgery, pain, & having an infection that has made me extra dizzy & nauseated, I have not come up with much for my blog recently. The surgery may greatly limit me for some time to come after my surgery at the end of this month.
As a follow-up to my previous post, I am sharing two songs that are a great reminder of just how total God's forgiveness is for those who are His children.
It doesn't stop once we are Christians even though we also know that we are not to sin that grace may abound.
I want to encourage those Christians who battle sin every day and wonder if God still forgives them.
Please keep seeking after God and read His word and keep praying.
Please keep resisting sin with God's help, but it's good for me at least to be reminded that God forgives me.

He loves His children, and we are no longer His enemies.
It seems that some people now equate someone calling someone a hero as meaning they are worshiped. Of course, as a Christian I believe that worship of anybody but the Lord is wrong.
Nobody is perfect and everyone except Christ has sinned. There is a big difference between calling someone a hero and idolatry however. Hero worship is wrong, but someone being considered a hero is not.
A hero is someone admired who has been exceptionally brave or has especially fine qualities.
Hebrews 11 mentions a lot of people who obeyed God in faith. That is heroic! Were these men and women sinners like you and I? For sure! Still, God used them, and the world was not worthy of them.
I struggle myself often with feeling my faith is weak. I realize I suffer physically, but how much have I really suffered for the sake of Christ and the Gospel? Maybe I've been called some things online, but that is not much. I hope that all true Christians will go out and influence the sphere that God has given us.
You may never be well-known on earth or have your name touted about like the famous people of the world or even be written about in a book, but with God's help and the faith He gives - we can do brave and heroic things by obeying and serving the Lord where we are planted. I am thankful that we have the whole Gospel which the Old Testament people did not. How many of us proclaim it though to those who will come behind us?
The following song asks a poignant question regarding the people of faith in Biblical times that I think that it is good to think about for all of those who claim Jesus' name. "The world was not worthy of them. Is it worthy of me and you?" Is it? Thanks be to God for working on perfecting us in the knowledge and wisdom of Him. I focus so much on myself, but I want to follow the Lord in greater faith and I hope this song will encourage you to as well.

Life can be difficult, and sometimes it can seem overwhelming.
It's a comfort to know that one day I will be free from sin,

I hope and must trust that God is making me more like Him as
