Peter Furler - Matter of Faith (Official Video)

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favorite songs off of Peter Furler's On Fire album.
No, I didn't make the video.

I don't think it quite does the lyrics justice, but then nobody has a photo of Heaven.

Easter (Resurrection Sunday) is coming soon, and that reminds people that Jesus died for sins taking the punishment we deserve and that He rose from the dead conquering death.  Well, for those of us who have repented and put our trust in Him, we can have the assurance of being forgiven and having joy in Heaven with Jesus forever.

Everyone will one day know that Jesus is Lord.  The question people can ask themselves is whether that knowledge will bring terror or joy?  I know that I will have joy in Heaven with the Lord, although I can be shallow enough to think more about my pain being gone, my mind and heart being completely free from the battle against sin.
My mind so often rebels against what I want to love.  My actions so often go against what I want to be.  I guess I can relate to the apostle Paul to a certain extent.
I am thankful for the mercy, grace, hope, and love of God.

180 Conference October 20, 2012 in San Diego, CA

I went out to eat with family recently at a Mexican restaurant that we have been to a number of times.  The food is really good there.  It is the best we have found here in Tennessee since leaving California.

I had given one of the waiters there a "180" Movie DVD awhile back.  Well, we had the same waiter again this time.  I was standing up with my chair behind me near a ledge, and I was ordering my food before sitting down.  Somehow I bumped the chair, and it fell off of the ledge.  BANG!  Another patron of the restaurant said something about thinking he was getting shot.
Well, the waiter picked the chair up for me.  It was both funny and embarrassing.
I still laughed about it afterward...and it's still funny!

Anyway, I waited until later on to ask the guy if he'd had a chance to watch the DVD and what he thought of it.
He said it had changed his mind and that he had never though about it that way before.
I said that I was glad he got a chance to watch it.  Wow!  It's not often that a person gets to hear that something they shared made a difference!

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, "180" Movie is a documentary that first asks people who Hitler is and tells some about him and the Holocaust.  Then the interviewer (Ray) puts a situation to the people where they think about what they would do if in those circumstances.  The topic then turns to abortion and asks an important question.  After that Ray gives the good person test and presents a life changing message to people.

There is a conference in San Diego, California scheduled for later this year that is based on the  "180" Movie documentary.  Ray Comfort, Pam Tebow, Randy Alcorn, JimBob and Michelle Duggar are all scheduled to be there.  To see more speakers and information about this exciting conference, you can look at the official website:

Live Monumental Documentary with Kirk Cameron March 27, 2012

Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure will be a live even on March 27, 2012 to be viewed in theaters across the U.S.

The closest place to view this is too far for my family to want to drive sadly.
If you can go to one of the viewings, it should be worth checking out.  They will have speakers and singers I believe as well as the documentary itself.

To find out if there are tickets available near you see below the video on this post.
There will be some extra showings also that are not live beginning March 30th after the live event for those who are unable to participate in that.

Kirk Cameron was in a show called Growing Pains when he was young (starting from before he became a Christian).  We didn't have a TV back then, but I know people were thrilled when he stopped by at the church where my school was at when I was in junior high.  You may have seen him in the Left Behind movies or on the Way of the Master program ... especially if you are a Christian.
Please don't prejudge this.  Things will and are getting worse, but I agree that we don't have to throw in the towel when things go downhill.  History can be very informative, and I think it is worthwhile to find out what is said.

The following video will give you a clue as to what this intriguing documentary is all about.

Kirk Cameron, Homosexuality and the Bible

Kirk Cameron has been attacked a lot recently for stating his views on homosexuality.
I'm going to share his video here and then some Bible verses that talk about homosexuality. At the end I have put one more video you may want to check out.

Now, there are some Christians who want to accept homosexuality and homosexual rights to "marry." If you read the Bible verses, you will see that those ideas do not match at all with what the Scriptures say.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NASB

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Romans 1:24-27 NASB

But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully,  realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,  according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
1 Timothy 1:8-11

See Genesis 19 here

In the law of Moses, you will find out how seriously homosexuality was viewed as one of the many types of sin.

If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
Leviticus 20:13

This is the description of marriage that the Bible gives:

For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24

Here is a video that includes some of the verses and explains how Christians are to respond to homosexuals.

Stay Strong

"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."
Jude 1:24-25 NASB

Stay Strong by the Newsboys from runningjenrose on GodTube.

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. "
 Hebrews 12:1-3 NASB

Ray Bumps into Gavin Who Was in "180" Movie

I believe it was in February that Ray Comfort got to catch up again with Gavin who was one of the guys on the "180" Movie documentary. If you haven't watched "180" Movie, please check it out at:
http://180movie.com

Are you a good person?  Where are you going when you die?

"He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."
1 John 5:12

The  "180" Movie documentary talks about the Holocaust and abortion, and I recently saw the following link that gives the numbers of abortions that are happening in the U.S. and worldwide.   It may shock you!

My Second Oil Painting Completed

A few years ago I started this oil painting, but I didn't finish it.  I'm sure it's a no-no, but I have physical limitations that makes oil painting a real chore and very painful to my back.  Well, I have finally finished it!  It's not as good as I would like, but I can't expect perfection from an amateur!  I wanted to share the photo I took of it after it was newly completed!

I used a book that had instructions.  I thought it was pretty much ruined at one point, but I just tried to darken things and rework it.  I'm thankful that it turned out  not too badly, even if it doesn't look quite the way it should.

Bad Evangelism; A How Not To Guide

The first video below is comedy, but sadly a lot of churches do not help Christians know how to communicate the Gospel. I sometimes have brain freezes myself even communicating online. I'm thankful for the On the Box program that I watch a lot. Okay after this funny video, I am putting a serious video with Paul Washer. You will see that part of what is in the funny one has some truth in it, but definitely not presented correctly.

Death, Suicide and Hope

People are hurting or killing themselves.  Does anybody care?   We may not know what is in someone's heart, but I feel people should be looking more to find these people to show them God's love (loving them yourselves) and seeking to give them the Gospel as well.  If you are one of those people who thinks nobody cares about you, then please know that God cares about hurting people and I care enough to let you know that.  When Jesus was on earth, He cared about people who others shunned.  I also care enough to give you a link to a life and soul saving message.
Please look at the following website:   http://needGod.com
