Suffering, Abortion, Street Preachers, New Endeavor

  • Awhile back now I was listening again to Keith Green's old song, "A Billion Starving People," and I was reminded how well it spoke to the abortion issue in the second verse.  It's a song not just about physically starving people, but the spiritually starving -- feeding the "Bread of Life" to people, and rescuing the unborn.
Truly God will avenge the blood of those whose lives are spilled out like water who were created in God's image.

  • Not long ago a friend of mine shared a video involving street preaching in Canada.
Some people may wonder about street preaching, but its basis is Biblical.
The danger comes when people are not held accountable by the leadership of a church and are not qualified teachers.   I know two of the guys in the video below are involved in their local churches, and hopefully they all are.  I just don't know the other guys, although I'm somewhat familiar with a couple of them.  Please pray for these guys.  These are the guys I recognized in the video:  Robert, Sye, Mike, & Tony.

  • On a personal note: I now am doing some volunteer work tweeting online for a ministry,
so we shall see how that affects my blogging in the future.  I'm pleased to be able to try to be of some help even though I often need assistance myself!  May the Gospel go forward and God be glorified!

"Marriage", Marijuana, Mandate, & Mortality %

Judge's Opinion On "Marriage"

Last night, Federal Judge Arenda Allen in the state of Virginia ruled that the ban on homosexual so-called "marriage" is unconstitutional.
See newspiece here

The judges making these decisions claim that it is based on the equal protection clause of the Constitution as though behavior and skin color are equivalent.  They are not.   Homosexuality is a behavior rather than something that came from God...just like fornication/adultery is a behavior.

Racism is a terrible thing, but homosexuality is not a natural thing like race.  People are not born having intimate relations, and marriage is defined by God not man.  It is a reflection of Christ's relationship with the church.  Every adult in the U.S. had the right to marry someone of the opposite sex.  So, homosexuals had the same rights as everybody else, but they wanted special rights. Homosexuals have chosen to rebel against God's character just as those who worship idols, those who steal, those who commit adultery, etc..   There is a problem when people try to get others to accept and sanction behavior that God calls sin.

See Albert Mohler's article on Kentucky's U.S. District Judge's decision which included recognition of other states so-called "marriages".

Marijuana

The subject of marijuana for recreational and medicinal purposes has become a popular yet controversial issue in the U.S.  Not long ago the Gospel Coalition had a much discussed article about whether the use of recreational marijuana is a sin.
Is Recreational Marijuana Use A Sin?

A couple of days ago, a New York Times article had this to say even about the idea of the use of marijuana for medical purposes:

"The truth is we lack evidence not only for the efficacy of marijuana, but also for its safety."
We Need Proof On Marijuana --NY Times

Obama Mandate

President Obama has now made another executive order decision which would include mandating some businesses swear that lay-off decisions were not made based on Obamacare.  President Obama seems to believe that he is above the law, and the Congress seems to be too weak, fearful, or not motivated enough to assert their Constitutional power to stop his unchecked power-grabbing.

See Fox News Article

Here's a list of some of the over-stepping executive decisions Obama has made.

The ACLJ has put out a petition for those who want to voice their opinion to Obama:

Mortality

This past week, Shirley Temple Black and Ralph Waite with an e both died at the age of 85.  There were some positive and negative elements in the things they acted in.  I have watched most of  Shirley Temple's old movies and saw some of the Waltons episodes.  There were some elements that I didn't approve of but Shirley was cute and Ralph Waite was good at playing the part of the father on the Waltons.

The percentage of physical death in this world has held pretty steady throughout history.
No matter if someone dies at a young age or lives their full life expectancy here on earth, each one will face either God's wrath or mercy, love and forgiveness.  It won't matter how famous or idolized a person is or how giving and selfless they may appear, it will only matter your standing before God.

Do you know where you will go when you die?

My Dad & Mission Vision Network Radio Spots

For many years my Dad produced spots for the radio that focused on missions and unreached people groups.   You may or may not have heard of the Global Minute, Real World (spots), Christmas Panorama, Easter Panorama, Christmas Mosaic, Easter Mosaic, etc., but that is what he produced.

He actually was the President of the Mission Vision Network.
In the early days, reel to reel tape was used.  For a long time cassettes were sent to radio stations.
My Dad had to later learn to do production work on computer, and CDs were sent out.
Finally MP3 versions were also available online.
Before my Dad retired, all but the recording was being done at home. The radio spots were played for free on many Christian radio stations and some networks across the country.
I was able to volunteer way back when, although as fibromyalgia symptoms increased it was more difficult.

I thought I'd share some samples. Yes, the Mission Vision Network is no more, and these are Christmas edition spots from 2006.  Yes, I have approval to share these from my Dad.

"Sun and Shield" album by Peter Furler -  The former lead singer of the Newsboys has a new album coming out in March.  I enjoyed his last album "On Fire" and am looking forward to hearing what this one will be like.  Here are some samples: http://peterfurler.com/album/265968/sun-and-shield?autostart=true

"The Mercy Rule" is a new family movie with Kirk Cameron & his wife as well as comedian Tim Hawkins.  It is already available for download and pre-order.  I have not yet seen it, but what little comments or reviews I've seen or heard have been positive.  I look forward to finding out more.

"Lord, I Believe" Hymn - Not long ago I had a song stuck in my head to the degree that I actually recorded myself humming it for FB to try to see if anybody knew what it was.  I felt like the comedian who called himself "The Village Idiot" (Joby Saad) when he did a sketch about a person who was asked to stand on one leg and turn around or something while humming a tune to a song he wanted to remember.
Finally, I heard the song again!  It turned out it was a free download that someone else in the family had gotten in the past. It actually is a remake of an old hymn.  I don't know the church or the singer, so forgive me if there is any issue about that.
If you like the video below, you can get the song free at the following link:
